Our name, The MINDCAP Center, includes our focus: the MIND, and an acronym for our services--Cognitive Advantage Program (CAP). Dr. Jeanne Zehr, MINDCAP's founder, utilized Israeli psychologist Reuven Feuerstein's work, the idea of neuroplasticity, and Carol Dweck's Growth Mindset to create a unique new organization, geared toward helping people grow their brains. In January of 2019 we became a 501c3 organization, which qualifies us as a not-for-profit.
Daily operating decisions are made by our Executive Director, Karla Sheley, who reports to a Board of Directors. This Board of Directors provides insight and governance to MINDCAP, and is made up of the following individuals: Tomra Cardin (Executive Director of Redemption House of Fort Wayne, Melissa Geyman, (Branch Manager of Star Bank #11), Randa Witmer (High School Principal, Lakewood Park Christian School), and Carla Wenger (owner of Carla Wenger, LMHC). It is MINDCAP's mission to unleash the limitless potential of every person to think, learn, and thrive. Welcome in!
